During a combat encounter in The Last of Us Part II, one player discovered a rare execution animation that demonstrates how well Ellie can handle a machete. Given TLoU Part 2's cycle of violence motif, the incredibly brutal kill animations can very often prove a discomforting sight to behold. And Naughty Dog, the detail-driven development studio that it is, made sure the title's myriad combat encounters were replete with executions from both Ellie and Abby.
Some of The Last of Us Part 2's execution-based kills only occur if Ellie or Abby is wielding a certain weapon. Others seem contextualized according to the player and their enemy's placement in the game world. For example, if Ellie has a foe near the edge of a rooftop, she'll likely kick them off during the encounter. If Abby's backed against a wall, her kill animation will probably involve someone's head smashing into said wall. And players continue to find new fight scene animations in TLoU 2, despite the sequel going on two years old. Naughty Dog's track record suggests there may be even more the masses have yet to uncover.

Don't mess with a machete-wielding Ellie. Check out the brutal attack in the clip linked below:
Other Last of Us 2 fans in the Reddit thread noted they have yet to spot this particular animation, despite
