Bruce Wayne's Batsuit is one of the most iconic costumes in all of comics, but before he donned the cape and cowl, the hero who would become Batman wore a much more low-tech outfit. In Batman: The Knight #2 by DC Comics, the Dark Knight's original costume is showcased in action, showing that in his earliest adventures, Bruce wore a much more unassuming look.
In almost all of his adventures in the pages of DC Comics, Bruce Wayne can be seen sporting different variations of his iconic Batsuit. While the versions of his superhero costume might have separate unique details or armor features, Wayne's Batsuits almost always feature his pointed ears, a cape and cowl, a bat logo, and a utility belt across his waist. However, before he settled on the Batsuit, Wayne's low-tech suit was his choice of disguise. In a new series that explores his earliest days, DC reveals the suit he wore prior to becoming Batman.

In Batman: The Knight #2 by Chip Zdarsky, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Ivan Plascencia, and Pat Brosseau, Bruce Wayne heads to Paris to practice becoming a vigilante. He soon encounters a jewelry thief named Gray Shadow, an older French woman who agrees to teach Bruce to think like a criminal to stop them. She shows him the darker side of being a vigilante, including breaking through security systems, trespassing, breaking into safes, and more. Bruce gains valuable skills from the thief — and on their mission to steal four million dollars in jewels from an Oil CEO, he debuts a new, low-tech costume.
