Konami has announced the latest banlist updates for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and, for once, what's being unbanned is more interesting than what is.
The 07/02/2022 Forbidden and Limited List update is a pretty hefty one, with numerous additions and changes between the game's various levels of card restriction. Headlining the changes are Raigeki, Skill Drain, and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, which are all being completely unlimited.

First, there are four cards being placed in the Forbidden category, which are completely banned from play. New to the list is Eternity Code's Archnemeses Protos, which was a popular 'floodgate' card (a card that stops players from doing something) as well as a key part of the meta-leading Swordsoul deck.
It's being joined by Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty from Duel Overload. Simorgh was a good part of the Tri-Brigade archetype that Konami has spent the last few banlist updates trying to get on top of. It was easy to summon and could pull other creatures out of the deck, making it overly oppressive.
Two cards are also being upgraded from Limited to Forbidden: Eva and Imperial Order. Imperial Order is another example of a powerful floodgate card, and was often played in control decks which made it very difficult to get rid of. Meanwhile, Eva wasn't necessarily a big part of Drytron decks, banning it does take away some of their abundant resources.
A whole load of cards are moving to the one-copy-only Limited category. Pot of Desires, Monster Gate, and Lyrilusc – Recital Starling are all being newly-limited, while Lunalight Tiger, Astrograph Sorcerer, Fairy Tail – Snow, and Destrudo the Lost Dragon's Frisson being moved from Forbidden
