The PS Vita is getting a new game release this year thanks to eastasiasoft. The company has announced that it will be releasing Jet Set Knights for PS Vita through a limited physical release, and that pre-orders will go live on June 8th at 11am ET / 8am PT / 4pm UK through PlayAsia. If you are interested you will have to snap up the PS Vita version of Jet Set Knights quick, as there will be 1050 copies available in total.
The description for Jet Set Knights says, “The king has gone away for a while, making the kingdom ripe for attack by forces from the dark underworld. Princess Kitty and her subjects are now in danger! Control one of four brave knights and face hundreds of evil creatures to save the kingdom… or die trying. Jet Set Knights draws inspiration from golden age classics while incorporating unique tower defense and RPG elements, offering unlimited replay value and an endearing pixel art style!”
It was back in 2018 when Sony announced it would wind down production of physical PS Vita releases, ceasing full production in 2019. Last year, PlayStation Vita firmware update 3.74 added PSN restrictions, which changed the way how players could log into the system. The new instructions from Sony said, “Signing in to PlayStation Network now requires a device setup password for enhanced account protection. Account creation for PlayStation Network and some account management features are no longer available on the console. Use your PC or mobile browser to use account management features with improved performance, speed, and safety.”
There have been many rumours that Sony would release a new handheld, and that rumour came true. Partially, at least. A Vita 2 was not announced but Project Q was, a new game streaming handheld
