Pokemon Unite recently passed its six-month anniversary just a few weeks ago and the popular MOBA has seen plenty of iconic creatures added to its roster in recent months. The last month of 2021 saw two new additions to the game's roster with Tsareena and the highly-requested Dragonite joining the fight and the Pokemon MOBA welcomed Trevenant as its first new addition for the new calendar year. Now, developer TiMi Studios has officially revealed the newest addition to the game's lineup with a battle-ready sword and shield slashing its way into battle.
Pokemon Unite has steadily built its roster over the half-year since its release in July as the game has typically introduced multiple new creatures each month, adding up to a roster that now boasts 30 unique Pokemon following the release of Trevenant. The game has already seen many fan-favorite Pokemon added with each of the franchise's Gen 1 starter Pokemon occupying a slot alongside many recent selections like Gen 6's Sylveon and the Galar starter Cinderace. Now, Pokemon Unite is set to feature another member of Pokemon's sixth generation roster as the game will welcome the «Royal Sword» Pokemon Aegislash.
Pokemon Unite is Adding Sylveon Next Week
The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studios officially revealed Aegislash as Pokemon Unite's 31st playable character with a character spotlight on the game's official Twitter. The trailer shows off a variety of moves Aegislash will have that allows the Pokemon to swap between defensive and offensive gameplay, featuring a shield attack that follows with a stun as well as gap-closing sword slashes and an ultimate that deals heavy damage in a line. Fans of Aegislash won't have to wait long as the tweet places the Pokemon's official release
