The Pokémon Company has announced that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live limited playable beta will soon launch on desktop and mobile devices, but only in certain territories. Pokémon TCG Live is a digital card game that will replace the existing Pokémon TCG Online as the main digital platform for the Pokémon TCG.
Pokémon TCG Live is an upcoming free-to-play game that will be playable on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows devices. It bears mentioning that the Nintendo Switch is not one of the platforms that will host Pokémon TCG Live. The game will offer a recreation of the Pokémon TCG, with players able to collect cards and battle other players. The Pokémon Company distributes codes in packs of the real Pokémon TCG, which can be used to claim packs in Pokémon TCG Live. This started with the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield — Fusion Strike and is expected to continue with future sets.

The upcoming Pokémon TCG Live was delayed to 2022, but the time of its release is fast approaching. The Pokémon Company has revealed that the Pokémon TCG Live limited beta will launch in Canada on February 22, 2022. It will only be available in this region and there's no word regarding any other future availability at this time. The beta will be available on mobile devices and desktop PCs. As confirmed in a press release, some of the participants will have the opportunity to use cards from the upcoming Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars in Pokémon TCG Live prior to the expansion’s global release.
