In September last year, we told you that there was a new Pokemon Trading Card game coming to Android. We also said it’d be soft-launching in Canada “soon”. We were a bit off with that one, but said soft-launch is set to kick off next week.
The game is a new digital version of the TCG that’s set to replace Pokemon TCG Online. It offers more streamlined play, a new UI and, for the first time, you’ll be able to play the game on phones as well as tablets.
To celebrate the soon-to-exist soft launch, The Pokemon Company has released a brand new trailer that shows off some gameplay. And we’ve embedded it below this paragraph, as we are wont to do.
Hopefully this soft launch is a herald of an ever-closer worldwide release. Apparently the game is going to be free to play, without any IAPs. Which is pretty cool. You’ll be building decks, playing daily quests and fighting your friends.
When the soft launch kicks off on February 22nd – which is Tuesday – you’ll be able to download Pokemon Trading Card Game Live by clicking right here – so long as you live in Canada. We’ll let you know when the game goes live worldwide as well. Obvs.
