While trainers can start the Isle of Armor DLC early in the game, the Crown Tundra DLC requires its players to beat Sword and Shield's main story and postgame. Many players were hoping the Legendary Pokemon from past games could be caught in Galar, but most of these Pokemon weren't added until the DLC expansion pass. Instead of catching Legendary Pokemon in the wild, the Crown Tundra introduces a new gameplay mechanic called "Dynamax Adventures," providing a bit of a challenge for trainers who want to complete the Galar Pokedex. The following guide has been updated to include tips to make catching Dynamax Adventures-exclusive Pokemon a bit easier.
Dynamax Adventures are an underground challenge where trainers get to fight through 4 Max Raid Battles with the last battle against a Legendary Pokemon. Fortunately, trainers still have a 100-percent catch rate after weakening these Pokemon enough. In total, there are 38 legendary Pokemon from the previous 7 generations that trainers can encounter after the main story.
