A new, short trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet gives a first glimpse at its two other storylines and confirms an auto battle feature.
It’s only been a month since new information for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet dropped, and now The Pokémon Company has released another trailer.
Although it’s only three minutes long, and isn’t as in-depth as a Pokémon Presents, a lot of new details were revealed, in particular the three different story paths.
The last trailer confirmed that, aside from the traditional gym challenge, there are two other storylines that can be pursued independently. Both of which were shown in the new trailer.
One of them will involve facing off against a rebellious group of students called Team Star, effectively making them Scarlet & Violet’s villain team.
Their motivations aren’t entirely clear but considering they seem to just be a gang of delinquents, they’re probably no more villainous than Pokémon Sun & Moon’s Team Skull or Pokémon Sword & Shield’s Team Yell.

The other storyline sees you team up with a fellow student called Arven, a cook who’s searching for something called the Herba Mystica.
This is also where we’re introduced to another new pokémon called Klawf, a rock type which resembles a crab. Interestingly, you’ll face a giant version of Klawf throughout your adventure, which reminds us of the totem pokémon battles from Sun & Moon.
Arven mentions needing to visit the Lair of the Titans to retrieve the Herba Mystica, so there are likely more larger-than-normal pokémon
