Although Oshawott is the Water-type starter option in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can find and catch multiple Oshawott, later on, to help complete their Pokédex research. Like Rowlet and Cyndaquil, Oshawott is a Pokémon that previously had a different final evolution in games before Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While research upon Oshawott and its evolutionary line show that evolving in the Hisui region affected Samurott only, Oshawott can still be found and captured in its Unovaian form once players beat and complete the Pokémon Legends: Arceus story.
For players who chose either Rowlet or Cyndaquil as their starter Pokémon, they can easily acquire an Oshawott from Professor Laventon immediately after beating the main story in Legends: Arceus. This Oshawott will be the same Pokémon introduced at the beginning of the game that has been staying inside the Professor's office ever since one of the other two starter Pokémon was chosen. To receive Oshawott, speak with Professor Laventon after beating the main story of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and he'll reward players with the Water-type Pokémon. Additionally, he'll also give players the remaining Pokémon in the lab as well that wasn't chosen.

Finding and catching Oshawott is much more complicated than receiving it from Professor Laventon, however, but it is accessible to all players regardless of the starter they chose in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
