Alpha Rufflet can be difficult to find in Pokémon Legends: Arceus if players don't know where to look. Alpha Pokémon is a new feature introduced in this title and is just larger and more dangerous versions of more Pokémon. They are visually bigger than most of their counterparts and have bright-red eyes. Trainers will notice them early on when exploring Obsidian Fieldlands when they encountered an Alpha Rapidash in the fields. Each Alpha Pokémon is also labeled with a special red logo near their name to show that they are true Alpha Pokémon.
Alpha Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are also guaranteed to have at least 3 stats with an Effort Level of 3. Effort Levels have been a staple in the series for several generations and act as a way for players to further boost their Pokémon's attacks. For example, the same Pokémon with an Effort Level of 3 in their speed stat will be faster than the same Pokémon with an Effort Level of 1. Trainers can control this using Grit Pebbles but Alpha Pokémon already have some of their stats already altered. For those looking to capture alpha versions of all the new Pokémon added in this game, then they'll need to capture an Alpha Rufflet.
