In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, one of the Pokémon that has a unique method of evolution is Aipom. Aipom is the pre-evolution of Ambipom, which essentially looks like a larger version of the former with two tails. Both Aipom and Ambipom are Normal-type Pokémon, which means they only have a weakness to Fighting-type moves in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Like many of the Pokémon that were introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, Aipom has an incredibly low stat total considering that it had no evolution for a couple of generations. With the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, however, Ambipom was introduced, allowing Aipom to finally evolve into a stronger Pokémon. While Ambipom doesn't quite have a high stat total, its Attack and Speed stats are well above average. Between its stats and movepool, many players consider Ambipom one of the best Pokémon to lead with at the beginning of a battle. Although there aren't many trainer battles in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Ambipom's speed can still be useful as players seek to complete their Pokédex.

Aipom's evolution into Ambipom is similar to that of Piloswine's evolution into Mamoswine in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as it can only evolve after learning a certain move.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Aipom can evolve into Ambipom once it learns the move Double Hit. In previous games, this
