The Pokémon GOTour: Johto has debuted new Shiny Pokémon from the earlier generation of the Pokémon series, adding to the Shiny hunting options for fans. Shiny hunting in Pokémon GO has become an exciting feature for the mobile app, which adapted the alternately colored Pokémon from the main series console games. Community Days and Special Research events have given players access to boosted or guaranteed Shiny encounters, and the new additions will offer fresh challenges for Shiny fans.
Shiny Hunting in Pokémon GO is different from the main series Pokémon games. Instead of Chaining encounters of the same species, or obtaining a Shiny Charm for boosted Shiny chances, players must rely on special events that target specific Pokémon species. Despite the improved chances, encountering a random Shiny Pokémon outside of an odds-improving event is a rare and exciting achievement for most players.
