A new season has arrived in , but it's the same old Team GO Rocket returning in September 2024, including the tough Rocket Leader Arlo. He will pick three Pokémon out of a possible seven in each battle. While regular Rocket Grunts can be taken down fairly easily by a wide range of teams, it is vital to use Pokémon that are super-effective against the Rocket Leaders.
To face any of the three Team GO Rocket Leaders this month — Arlo, Sierra, or Cliff — you need to have first beaten at least six of the various Rocket Grunts, each one providing a part of a Rocket Radar. Once you have completed this, you can find Arlo by looking for PokéStops that have been taken over, or by tapping on Rocket Balloons in the sky. As in previous months, all of Arlo's Pokémon will be stronger Shadow versions.
Defeating Rocket Leader Cliff in Pokémon GO in September 2024 will reward you with a very rare Shadow Pokémon to add to your Pokédex challenge.
While there are lots of changes across as part of the new Max Out season, Arlo's team remains the same as it did in August 2024. Every time you face him, he will lead with the Rock/Bug-type Anorith. His next two selections will be one out of three Pokémon each time.
All of Arlo's possible second Pokémon will provide a tough test, whether it's the Water/Flying-type Gyarados, the Poison/Flying-type Crobat, or the Steel/Ground-type Steelix. The final Pokémon you will have to face to defeat Arlo will either be the Psychic/Fairy-type Gardevoir, the Normal-type Snorlax, or the dangerous Bug/Steel-type Scizor.

Arlo is tough to counter, but I've been able to comfortably defeat him with a specific lineup. As he will always start with Anorith, it is best to start with a Rock, Steel, or Water-type
