A new Pokémon Presents event is happening on Pokémon Day, causing speculation that the Gen 9 games will finally be announced. Pokémon Day takes place on February 27, as it's the Japanese anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Green.
The Pokémon Presents events are The Pokémon Company's equivalent to Nintendo Directs, revealing news on the company's future plans and announcements. The Presents are also why Pokémon content is almost never featured in the Nintendo Direct shows, with the company instead offering dedicated streams. The Pokémon Presents feature announcements for all kinds of Pokémon multimedia projects, which includes mobile games, which might be why these events are separate from the Nintendo Directs.

The Pokémon official Twitter page (via Nintendo Everything) has announced that a Pokémon Presents will take place on Pokémon Day. The event will run for around fourteen minutes and will take place at 11 pm Japan time, which equates to 6 am PT, 9 am ET, and 2 pm GMT. With Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus only recently releasing, the upcoming schedule is blank, save for updates to existing games like Pokémon Unite receiving new characters, which means anything could be revealed during the event.
