Players of Pokémon Unite will soon be able to fight as Duraludon with The Pokémon Company announcing the Steel/Dragon-type as the game’s next playable fighter. Duraludon was introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield and is considered one of the games’ strongest dual-type Pokémon. Since the pocket monster doesn’t have any evolutionary forms, at least currently, it’s both pretty rare and tough to catch in the game, with a very low spawn chance.
The Pokémon Company made a plethora of announcements during its recent Pokémon Presents event on Pokémon Day, February 27. Apart from announcements regarding upcoming content for games such as Pokémon GO, Pokémon Master EX, Pokémon Cafe Remix, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the company also finally unveiled the ninth Generation of mainline Pokémon games. Releasing later this year, the two newly announced games will be called Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and will feature a Grass-type cat-like Pokémon, a reptilian Fire-type, and duck Water-type as its starters. The trailer for the Gen 9 Pokémon games also seems to indicate that species from previous Generations could make appearances in the new games.

During the recent Pokémon Presents event, The Pokémon Company announced that Duraludon will be the next fighter to be added to Pokémon Unite’s growing roster, seen in the presentation from The Official Pokémon YouTube channel. While the company hasn’t released any details on Duraludon’s abilities in Pokémon Unite, the teaser video does show the Steel/Dragon-type launch projectiles at an enemy as well as use a roar-like AoE ability with a rather wide range.
