Rhyhorn and Rhydon are both Rock/Ground-type Pokemon that have been around since the first generation of the Pokemon games with Red/Blue/Yellow. However, there's been a third addition to the evolution line, which added Rhyperior into the mix. It's also a Rock/Ground-type, and it has exceptionally high base Attack and Defense, but lacks in Special Attack and Special Defense. Still, Rhyperior can be a strong Pokemon to have on any team if used correctly. To get Rhyperior in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players will need to evolve Rhydon, and that involves a special item and a trading buddy.
For Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players looking to evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior, an evolutionary Held Item called a Protector will be needed. There's only one Protector available in the Sinnoh region, and players can find it on Route 228, north of the Resort Area (more details below). Once players obtain the Protector, they can give it to a Rhydon to hang on to, and then Rhydon will need to be traded for it to evolve into Rhyperior. The only way for players to trade in BDSP is to connect online and go to the Pokemon Center's battle/trading rooms. The Rhyperior will need to be traded back once it evolves, so players need to trade with someone they can trust.
