Money is fairly scarce in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but there is a way for trainers to grind up for more. Cash in the Pokémon universe is typically used to buy Potions, Poké Balls, or other valuable quest items. Although in those titles, money was never really an issue. It's common for trainers to complete an entire Pokémon game without having to worry about their spending limits. That's not the case with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as the game doesn't feature traditional trainer battles. Any Pokémon battle that takes place in the game either involves a noble Pokémon or one of the hundreds of different wandering Pokémon in the wild.
Early on, trainers will be able to get money by completing research tasks. After unlocking the Obsidian Fieldlands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the world of Hisui begins to open up. The game's objective is to complete the Pokédex, and trainers can clear out each Pokémon by completing various tasks. These range from capturing Pokémon a certain way, feeding them food, or defeating them in battle. Although it can be time-consuming to complete every page of the Pokédex, there is a better way to get extra cash, and it will have to wait until players have access to the Crimson Mirelands.

But the real prize of the Space-Time Distortions is the dropped shards.
