The world of the popular video game franchise The Last of Us is being brought to the DC Universe by Poison Ivy. When The Last of Us first debuted in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, it was met with widespread critical acclaim. The game's blend of complex narratives, interesting characters and a unique take on the zombie sub-genre helped it garner multiple awards, a critically well-received sequel in 2020 and a television adaptation expected to debut in 2023. Now, its influence is beginning to find its way into other popular properties as demonstrated by an upcoming solo series focusing on fan-favorite villain Poison Ivy.
Poison Ivy is a new series which will follow Poison Ivy as she embarks on a mission to bring her ultimate goal to life. After years of damage that the human race has done to the planet, Ivy has had enough. In order to restore peace to the planet, her new series will see her attempt to bring a sweeping end to humanity. Details on how she would do this have been fairly vague since the series was first announced. However, a first look at the villain's new series shows that she's taking some inspiration from The Last of Us.

Preview pages supplied by DC show Poison Ivy opening with a father and son discovering something odd about their livestock. They're all dead and have been consumed by some type of fungus.
