The Poco M5 page is live on Flipkart while the Poco M5s has reportedly appeared on the Chinese e-commerce website Aliexpress. The listing confirms that the device will be announced in India as well as globally on the same date. The microsite has revealed the design and key specs of the upcoming Poco M5. On the page,
the Poco M5 can be seen sporting a teardrop notch display on the front and a leather-like texture on its back panel. There is a dual-camera setup, an LED flash, and a Poco branding as well on the back. However, there is no detail available on the device's cameras. The handset will be available in yellow and blue colour shades.
As far as specifications are concerned, Poco has only confirmed that the upcoming handset will be equipped with the Helio G99- a new 6nm MediaTek chip. Further, the smartphone is speculated to come in three options: 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The global and Indian variants of the Poco M5 are likely to pack the same specs. However, the global model may have support for NFC, while the Indian model will not.
Further, the rumours also suggest that the Poco M5 will feature a 6.58-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution. It may further be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. For security, it will feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the Poco M5 will run on MIUI 13-based Android 12 OS.
In India, the Poco M5 is expected to be priced under Rs. 15,000 and could be among the very few phones to come with 4G connectivity.
