The PlayStation VR2 headset will finally become usable on PC soon, thanks to an official adapter that will be released in a few months.
This PC adapter, which will be released for an estimated retail price of $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99 at select retailers and PS Direct on August 7th, will also require a DisplayPort cable that is compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 as well as a Steam account and a PC that meets the minimum system requirements, which are not particularly high, although for the best results, Sony recommends an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600XT or later graphics card. Setup also promises to be painless, as users will only be required to connect the headset to a PC and then download the
PlayStation VR2 App and SteamVR App from Steam.
Unfortunately, using the PlayStation VR2 headset on PC won't deliver the same experience as on PlayStation 5 since some of its key features, like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking and adapting triggers, and haptic feedback, won't be supported. However, 4K visuals, a 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and see-through view, as well as foveated rendering, will be supported.
The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter will launch on August 7th worldwide. You can learn more about the headset and some
