Sony has launched a PlayStation Plus promotion offering significant discounts to new subscribers and existing ones who upgrade their memberships.
Until January 13, players who sign up to the PlayStation Plus Premium or Extra tiers on a 12 or three-month plan will get up to 40% off the regular price.
The offer is not available to existing subscribers. However, current PlayStation Plus Essential tier members can save 30% by upgrading to Extra or Premium.
The offers are part of PlayStation Store’s January Sale, which currently features discounts of up to 75% on around 5,000 games and DLC packs.
January’s PlayStation Plus Essential games were released on Tuesday. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5/PS4), Fallout 76 (PS4) and Axiom Verge 2 (PS5/PS4) are available for subscribers to claim until February 7.
This month’s Game Catalog line-up for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members will be announced “soon”, according to Sony.
December’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics titles included WWE 2K22, several Far Cry and Yakuza games, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Ridge Racer 2, Heavenly Sword, Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus and Pinball Heroes.
Sony Interactive Entertainment said this week that PS5 has now sold over 30 million units since its November 2021 launch.
Speaking during the company’s CES showcase, SIE president Jim Ryan claimed December was PS5’s biggest sales month yet, and that increased availability means more consumers can now purchase the console following long-running supply issues.
