PlayStationowners have recently had much to discuss as the platform has announced its upcoming changes to PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus. Sony has been looking for an answer to Microsoft's successful Xbox Game Pass for a while, and it seems that the company may finally have it with a new version of PS Plus known as PlayStation Plus Premium. PlayStation Plus Premium allows users to stream or download games using both consoles and PCs, with hundreds of free games including classic titles from the PS3 and PS2.
With all the excitement around the new PlayStation Plus services, some PlayStation Now subscribers felt left out, as the expansion of PS Plus came along with the scrapping of Sony's on-demand streaming service. However, PS Now owners were recently informed that upon the release of the new PlayStation Plus they would receive the highest tier of the service for no additional fees. For some savvy PlayStation owners, this provided the perfect opportunity to gain PS Plus Premium for cheap.
PlayStation CEO Thinks Live Service Games Will Overtake Subscription Services
According to Twitter user Wario64, players can still buy PS Now subscriptions through the PlayStation online store, meaning that they can essentially purchase a subscription to PS Plus Premium for a cheaper price now than what it'll retail for when launching in June. This loophole means that when PlayStation Now is no longer available, those who've purchased the subscription will upgrade to a PS Plus Premium membership at no extra cost. PlayStation owners using this exploit have in some cases bought years' worth of a PlayStation Now subscription so that they won't have to pay the full price for PlayStation Plus Premium.
