While Marc Spector serves the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu as Moon Knight, the deity thinks one other Marvel hero could do the job better. Moon Knight #10 featured the titular hero following up on the death of his brother, Randall, by confronting the man who killed him. The investigation gave Khonshu the opportunity to see another brutal hero in action who could potentially serve him better than the current Moon Knight.
Marc Spector has been fighting in Khonshu’s stead since he first appeared in Werewolf By Night #32 by Doug Moench, Don Perlin, Howie Perlin, Phil Rachelson, and Ray Holloway. After being gunned down, Spector was revived by the celestial figure in order to be his vessel and protect the travelers of the night from evil. As the Fist of Khonshu, Moon Knight developed a reputation for his brutal methods that have made him a pariah among other heroes.

And while Moon Knight is no stranger to violence, Khonshu thinks another vigilante could do an even better job as his servant. Moon Knight #10 by Charlie Huston, Mico Suayan, Frank D’Armata and Rus Wooton has Spector and Khonshu observe the Punisher in his element as he lays waste to a gang. As Frank takes out body after body, Khonshu is in awe of the vigilante, complimenting his effortless work. An annoyed Moon Knight tells the god to bring Castle in if he thinks he’s so great. But according to Khonshu “Alas, it is not to be. He belongs to another,” noting the skull emblazoned on the Punisher’s chest.
It should be noted that Khonshu and Marc’s relationship is tenuous to say the least, and the god often manipulates Spector in order to get what he wants from him. In fact, in this particular instance,
