One of the most notable bugs currently persisting in the game affects the Mini Seasons mode, a style of play where players can engage in quick, three-inning matches. After San Diego Studio released the Game Update 3, Mini Seasons received some much-needed attention, but players are continuing to report their inability to advance past a few games.

Reddit user Ludy5 appears to have found a brand-new glitch in-game that turns MLB The Show 22 into an open-world game. While the focus in a baseball game is to score as many runs while preventing the opposition from doing the same, Ludy5 managed to break the game in a way where time stands still, and they are free to roam the field. The glitch appears to lock all assets in the game into a constant loop except for the user-controlled player, and the prompt to load the next cutscene leading into the play resuming is broken. It ranks up there among some of MLB The Show 22's more comical bugs to date, but it may grow old after occurring more than a handful of times.
