Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will be getting its next major update in April. Today, in a new NGS Headline, Sega shared new details on the upcoming Slayer class and more of what's on the way.
Chapter 5 of the main story will be out in the update coming on April 5th. This new chapter will bring players up to the mysterious huge structure that has been floating in the sky for a while, over the field. We'll get to know a little more about what's going on up there, as the protagonist will get to the floating island known as Leciel and inside. The update promises to begin to reveal some of the secrets of Halpha.
This update will also add the new Gunblade weapon category, so there will be drops and ways to get them from completing tasks. There will be a new Slayer Operation Prep Ticket Exchange opening with the April 5th patch, which will open up trades for Gunblades, camos, and more.
In a sense, you'll be able to get a jump start on these new features, but you won't be able to actually equip Gunblades until April 12th. April 12th is the day that the new Slayer class will be released.
The Slayer is the first class to specialize in the use of the Gunblade, so your patience will be rewarded on April 12th. You'll be able to combine a variety of actions to let you unleash a tax sequences upon your enemies. The Slayer can switch between Photon Arts abilities by using directional inputs, so you'll open up a wide variety of options with this new class. Some class skills will also get boosts to critical hit rate or crit bonuses. Slayer can also be your subclass and still you'll be able to take advantage of those boosts.
