Warning! SPOILERS for Peaky Blinders season 6 ahead.
The story of the Shelby family may be set to end with a movie, but Peaky Blinders season 7 would have been a more fitting conclusion to the crime family’s story. Creator Steven Knight always intended to tell how the Shelby family adjusted through the years between World War I and II with seven seasons, wrapping up with one final movie. However, the plan changed as problems arose because of the COVID-19 pandemic, making Peaky Blinders end with season 6 and one final movie. Production for the conclusive Peaky Blinders movie is set to begin in 2023.

Tommy and Mosley’s coalition, already weak considering the opposite political sides on which the two stood, clearly came to an end at the end of Peaky Blinders season 6, when Tommy realized his tuberculoma was faked by a doctor loyal to Mosley. Wanting Tommy dead, Mosley had the doctor convince Tommy he would die a horrible death, believing Tommy would kill himself before that.
