Peacock has released a trailer previewing footage from their 2022 series slate, which includes highly anticipated shows like Bel-Air, Vampire Academy, and Joe vs Carole. While Peacock only launched less than two years ago, the streaming service has proven to be a worthy competitor against long-established streaming giants like Netflix and Hulu. Initially, Peacock turned heads for becoming the new exclusive streaming home for The Office and Parks and Recreation. However, the streamer has gone on to see considerable success as it filled out its catalog with other hit NBC series, revivals, Peacock originals, and films from Universal, Illumination, DreamWorks, and Focus Features.
Peacock’s paid subscriber count reached 9 million in 2021, with new shows like Tina Fey’s Girls5Eva, Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, and MacGruber starring Will Forte. While the streaming service did see a $1.7 billion dollar decrease last year, Peacock is looking to change that in 2022 by focusing on its original content. Several new and returning series have been announced for Peacock this year, and the promotions are starting to roll out as these highly anticipated shows near their release dates.
