Netflix's popular crime drama Ozark is coming to an end very soon. The streaming company has announced that Part II of the fourth and final season will debut on April 29.
This is sooner than some might have expected, given Part II was only just released in January. The trailer acknowledges this, too, saying, «The end arrives, sooner than you think.» As for the trailer, as expected, it appears Season 4 will focus on Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) and how she is on the warpath after the dramatic events of the first part of the final season.
Ozark premiered in July 2017, so when it comes to an end next month, it will have had a run of about five years. There are 14 episodes in the fourth and final season--7 premiered in January and the next 7 are coming in April.
Showrunner Chris Mundy previously spoke to TheWrap about the decision to split Season 4 into two parts. «We always thought five [seasons] was the outside number,» Mundy said. «It just felt like after that--we didn't want to repeat ourselves, we didn't want the show to feel like it was continuing because it was a TV show and it had to continue. So really the decision has always been between is it four [seasons] or is it five [seasons], and then Netflix hit upon the idea of saying, 'We'll do four but we'll make it long and split it in this way,' and that felt perfect.»
Garner has stayed in business with Netflix, recently starring on the popular show Inventing Anna. Garner plays the famous con artist Anna Sorokin.
