News for the anticipated sequel has been very sparse since Blizzard officially announced Overwatch 2 with a pulse-pounding cinematic trailer in 2019. Excitement for Overwatch 2 hit new levels as the sequel promises to not only expand on the esports-approved team-based hero battles but also include a campaign filled with cooperative play as players fight hordes of enemies throughout Overwatch's continuing story of the ongoing war against the artificial intelligent Omnic threat. Overwatch 2 will contain new heroes and new customizable abilities for existing heroes which will be a significant component for the sequel. Recent updates through the game's launcher make some think fans will be able to try it out sooner than expected.
