A recent AMA held on the Games subreddit has given fans a chance to get plenty of new information about the upcoming sequel from new gameplay tweaks to potential new characters.
The «Ask Me Anything» thread with Overwatch 2's dev team has provided a more in-depth look at what to expect from the sequel. Overwatch 2 developers have discussed a wide variety of topics throughout the session, including future plans for maps from the first game's «Assault» mode and plans for existing players' loot boxes. Overwatch 2 made waves when Blizzard confirmed the sequel would be shedding loot boxes in favor of a battle pass system. Now, one fan's question about a fan-favorite group from the Overwatch universe may hint at future characters for Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 is Removing Levels
During the AMA thread, one fan with the handle Simp4Dmon asked the Overwatch 2 team if there were plans to include more of D.Va's teammates from the MEKA Squad. A response from Overwatch 2's Senior Hero Designer, Blizz_JNoh, revealed that while there are currently no official plans, they personally would love to include more MEKA Squad members. D.Va is currently the only member of the South Korea-based unit included in the game with the asker's name likely referencing another member of the team, D.Mon.
