Season 4 of Overwatch 2 begins on April 11th, and Game Director Aaron Keller recently posted a blog about the new hero Lifeweaver, the Starwatch event (a hint of the upcoming PvE), and Pride month for Overwatch.
LifeweaverLifeweaver can do a few things which are completely new to Overwatch: some, like Petal Platform, Blizzard has been talking about since before the original game shipped! Life Grip is Lifeweaver's wildest ability, where he can grab an ally and pull them to his location. Since it happens almost instantly, without any confirmation from the ally, the first thing many people question is whether it can be used to grief teammates. It can, but it can also be used to save teammates or set up even bigger plays. Teamwork, including trust in your teammates, is a crucial skill in Overwatch. Blizzard is always looking for ways for Overwatch to evolve and give players new ways of interacting with the game. Lifeweaver will be available to play for free in the B.O.B. and Weave limited time game mode with the launch of Season 4 where you use Life Grip to position your team's B.O.B. Before Lifeweaver, there were eight Support heroes in the game, three less than the Tank role and a lot less than the Damage role. Blizzard wants to correct this gap, and plans on releasing roughly two Support heroes for every 1 Damage and Tank hero. The new hero in Season Six will also be a Support.
StarwatchStarwatch is a brand new game mode being released in Season Four, where players take the side of a Watcher or an agent of the Infinite Empire.
