Overwatch 2 will get its first public tests this week, followed by a closed beta next month.
In a new dev update, game director Aaron Keeler said that while Blizzard was confident in its work so far, it wanted to ensure it got the game into players' hands as quickly as possible.
To that end, he confirmed that PVP tests would begin next week, limited to pros and Blizzard staff. A closed beta will take place in April, allowing more players access to the game.
Keller explained that this had involved "decoupling" the PvP and PvE systems of the game as part of an attempt to get the game into players' hands sooner.
