Earlier this month, Blizzard announced that the beta for would begin sometime in April. Now, the official date is here, with the highly anticipated game’s beta set to begin on April 26, 2022.
After the company announced that a closed beta would come next month, it saw its registration page crash almost immediately. In a new tweet, Blizzard confirmed the date, with registration still ongoing for the beta if you’d like to sign up to be selected. This news comes following a closed alpha that took place earlier this year, which saw League players, Blizzard employees, and others get the chance to get a hands-on look at the game.

According to the FAQ found on ‘s website, beta testers will be chosen based on a variety of factors, including their Battle.net region, when they signed up, and computer hardware specifics. In order to access the first closed beta, players will be required to own a copy of the first on PC.
Acting as a standalone sequel to the original game, aims to maintain a shared multiplayer environment between both games but will see major changes for fans of the series. These include new maps, massive tweaks to heroes, and other reworks that will also be worked into the original whenever the sequel releases.
