The penultimate episode of Overlord IV was a very interesting affair as the Sorcerer Kingdom's advance on the Kingdom of Re-Estize continues. Well aware of the inevitable fate of the Kingdom, the warrior entrusted with the magic sword that once belonged to Gazef Stronoff; the strongest warrior in Re-Estize, Brain Unglaus, has decided to no longer sit back while the Kingdom falls to ruin.
After hearing Princess Renner's resolve to remain despite being given a chance to escape, Brain sets off to do what he can to offset the Sorcerer Kingdom's advance; but he is unlucky enough to run into a Floor Guardian – one like Cocytus. The helplessness of Re-Estize's situation prompts conversations of escape and reestablishment elsewhere, but a certain character's valor proves to be Overlord IV episode 12's best element.

After the battle against Riku Aganeia, Pandora's Actor and Albedo share their findings with Ainz, who praises Pandora for his actions on the battlefield. Pandora's begging on his knees in front of a hostile has created the grounds for the proliferation of false information about Ainz Ooal Gown, which is advantageous for the Sorcerer Kingdom. Despite having collected some information on Riku, there are still various things about him that are a big unknown, and Ainz also has no idea how his powers work.
They do, at the very least, deduce that Riku's shields are the creation of a World Item of some kind, due to the fact that the wielder of the Ginnungagagap, Albedo, was able to break through Riku's shields without much of an issue.
