WhatsApp in the month of April banned over 16 lakh accounts of Indian users, as per the information provided by the company's monthly disclosure report. The messaging app further informed that out of the total, 122 accounts were banned based on user complaints while 16.66 lakh accounts were barred to prevent harmful activity on the app.

According to WhatsApp, if your account is banned, you will see the following message when you open WhatsApp: "This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp." If you think your account was banned by mistake, You can email WhatsApp or tap request a review in the app and the messaging platform will look into your case. Also, it will get back to you after completing the review.
