The map is quite large, with dozens of possible locations for your castle. Over time, your castle will grow so you will also need to consider the size of the area. In this guide, we are going to go over some of the best locations to build your castle, as well as what to look out for while scouting for a place to call home.
One of the best places to build is on raised ground. These are flat areas with no paths or permanent structures to block your castle.
Raised ground serves as a great, secluded area for you to build on. These areas are easily visible on the map, due to their thick outline and yellow-green tint.
Your castle should serve as a central location, allowing you to easily travel around the map. Because of this, it's important to find a location on the map that is near resources.
For example, on the map above, you can see a great central location for a castle in the Farbane Woods.
This location is surrounded by smaller bandit camps, as well as the Bandit Logging Camp, Bandit Copper Mine, and the Forgotten Cemetery.
Locations that would not work well would be around the initial starting area, where you first enter into the woods. If you settle in this location, you will have to go on many long journeys just to find basic resources.
Your castle will not have multiple floors; instead, it will sprawl out across the land.
