The Nothing Phone (1) is quite something to look at! While the official launch is still months away, Nothing founder Carl Pei couldn't wait to show off the Nothing Phone (1) to the world! Well, not exactly showing off the entire phone but how it would look from the rear. In a world's first look, the Nothing Phone (1) has been shown from the rear, which like the Nothing ear (1) earbuds will wear a transparent body, showing its internals.
This wasn't surprising, considering Nothing's affection for transparent gadgets. We saw the Nothing ear (1) last year with its transparent design, both in white and black colours. With the Phone (1), Nothing is now going to do a transparent phone, which is a rarity in the industry. We have seen companies try to do semi transparent designs in the past but mostly with fake stickers pasted on the rear (Xiaomi Mi 8). The Nothing phone will be entirely transparent.

However, the transparent design is simply not about showing the rear. Carl Pei says in this report from Wallpaper.com that they wanted to do something different. "When you look inside almost any Android phone, they’re almost all exactly the same. Of course, the industry is optimising everything they do, year on year, trying to squeeze the most performance they can out of the smallest space," says head of design Tom Howard.
