An extremely toxic No Man's Sky player has been permanently banned by Hello Games, although players are not satisfied by the developer's actions. The galactic survival game has improved dramatically since its infamously disappointing launch in 2016, with Hello Games introducing a slew of free updates and improvements to help the title reach its potential. Multiplayer mode in No Man's Skyallows gamers team up and explore the universe together, but these online interactions can also lead to griefing and harassment.
Upon release No Man's Sky failed to live up to expectations, with the game being highly criticized for lacking a multitude of promised features while Hello Games failed to communicate with fans. Fortunately the British developer was able to gradually improve the sci-fi exploration experience over time, with the game finally achieving mostly positive Steam reviews in 2021. 2018's No Man's Sky Next update, in particular, brought in several promised features like online multiplayer and the ability to build bases anywhere in the game world. The No Man's Sky Sentinel update recently arrived in February 2022 overhauling the game's combat system with new weapons and enemies.

Hello Games recently took action against a vile No Man's Sky troll, but many players feel that the developer's actions were too late. Reddit user GH Ambassador recently made a lengthy post explaining that "a neonazi troll [was] griefing bases in the Galactic Hub," and attempts to report the player resulted in a 500 Error message.
