Yes, you read the headline right! Nintendo is shutting down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. They just announced this popular game’s EOS, and players are quite shocked. Wasn’t everything going alright? Let’s dig out!
On November 28th, 2024, the online services for Pocket Camp will say their goodbyes. If you’re still hanging out at your cosy campsite in there, maybe it’s time to savour these last moments. Ironically, the game will be completing its seventh anniversary on November 21st, just a few days before its EOS.
So, no more grabbing Leaf Tickets, and no more renewing your Pocket Camp Club memberships. Speaking of these, on October 28th, the auto-renewals for the Pocket Camp Club will be stopped. If your membership’s still ticking after that, you won’t get a refund. But you do get a nifty badge in your mailbox.
As for now, grab those Leaf Tickets while you still can. November 26th is your last chance. And get ready to say a final farewell to the online community on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST sharp.
Actually, Nintendo is planning to drop a paid offline version of the game. It’s not going to have the same hustle and bustle, like no more Market Boxes, gifts or visiting your friends’ campsites. But the core experience will still be there.
You’ll get to keep all your saved data and continue playing without any need for an internet connection. Details about this new paid version should start trickling in around October 2024, so keep an eye out.
In case you haven’t noticed, Nintendo’s been slowly pulling the plug on its mobile games. Dr. Mario World, Dragalia Lost and now this. They’ve even put Mario Kart Tour in maintenance mode. So, shutting down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn’t that shocking for some of us.
Anyway, if you want to savour these last few moments, check out Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store. And be sure to check out our next story on Monument Valley 3 by Netflix.
