Warning: Spoilers for Nightwing #90 ahead!
Beloved Bat-Family member Nightwing has come into his own since adopting Blüdhaven as his home, and just like Marvel Comics' Hawkeye, he's showing what it takes to be a hero for a whole community. Not unlike the Avenger Hawkeye just a few years ago, Nightwing has found himself under attack, with the fate of his home and the people around him all on his shoulders.
In Nightwing #90 by Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, Dick Grayson is facing the aftermath of his altruism. After making a public pledge to spend his newly inherited wealth, courtesy of Alfred Pennyworth, crime lords in Blüdhaven have put a target on Dick's back to the turn of $10 million. This includes the king of crime in the city, Blockbuster. After spending an issue running for his life across town and a brief crossover with Superman, Nightwing has to save his entire apartment building from Blockbuster's wrath. After getting a late-night message from Melinda Zucco, his recently-discovered half-sister and new mayor of Blüdhaven, warning him his apartment building is «about to be hit,» he's found himself in a race against time to save everyone inside. With his whole community at risk, Dick Grayson is following in the footsteps of another great non-powered hero — and this time, it isn't Batman.
