While Dick Grayson may have grown up from Robin to become Nightwing, it looks as though one of his most brutal attacks as the Boy Wonder has become a signature move thanks to his series' current artist. In recent issues from DC Comics, Dick Grayson took a break from his work in Blüdhaven to help and mentor Jon Kent, the new Superman of Earth. Now, artist Bruno Redondo has shared some new insights about Nightwing and an intentional desire to give Dick Grayson an epic signature move.
Having joined forces in Nightwing #89 and Superman: Son of Kal-El #9 from Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, Dick Grayson and Jon Kent teamed up to investigate a string of superhero deaths and their connection to The Rising, a team of controllable metahumans formed by Gamorran president Henry Bendix. Struggling with his new role stepping into his father's shoes as Superman, Jon has the benefit of having Dick as his mentor. Due to Nightwing's own past as Batman, Grayson is able to offer the perfect advice to the young hero, encouraging him to go his own way rather than trying so hard to perfectly emulate the original Man of Steel. However, Nightwing and Superman don't just talk in their «World's Finest Sons» adventure.

During Superman: Son of Kal-El #9, Nightwing and Superman managed to track down the members of The Rising who killed the Titan known as Risk and two other superheroes. Engaging the superpowered foes, Nightwing epically lands on one of their faces, a brutal attack he's been known to do before both as Blüdhaven's protector and as Robin.
