Following the season finale episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 7, Nick Zano shares his thoughts and appreciation to audiences in regards to his exit. Despite his separation from the franchise, executive producer Keto Shimizu revealed that the Legends of Tomorrow season 7 finale does not mark the end to the time-traveling drama. However, the series has yet to be renewed by The CW, as WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS are currently looking to sell their joint TV enterprise.
Introduced in season 2 of the superhero series, Zano played Nate Heywood, also known as Citizen Steel. In an attempt to heal Nate’s severe injuries, Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) injected Nate with a super serum, granting him the ability to transform his skin into steel and giving him enhanced strength and invulnerability. Throughout Nate's run on the show, he proved to be a vital asset to the team as Nate was a talented historian who had specialized in studying historical documents and archeological artifacts.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Zano addresses his final appearance as a series regular in the Arrowverse. After sharing his desire to spend more time with his two children, Zano shared his appreciation for the Legends of Tomorrow fan base and his positive feelings towards the connection built with them. Following the end of his contract, Zano reveals feeling content with his experience on Legends of Tomorrow and the opportunity to say farewell to his character with a proper send-off.
