Following a recent lawsuit in November of 2021, eight more women are alleging sexism and gender discrimination at PlayStation. These claims come on the day of PlayStation's State of Play presentation.
The lawsuit began in November 2021, when an IT Security Analyst employee came forward, alleging that they had been overlooked and ignored by leads due to gender discrimination. After the employee was terminated, that employee filed suit alleging that they were wrongfully terminated because they spoke out about the work environment. Sony responded to the suit, claiming that the employee was being terminated due to a shutdown of a department. The PlayStation producer also moved to have the lawsuit dismissed due to a lack of proof that any policy was violated during the firing.

As reported by Axios, following Sony's request to dismiss the case, eight more women have added statements to the original claim. These women range from different positions and seniority held within the company and one is currently still employed. The women have made claims describing similar treatment across all of the United States-based offices. The allegations include statements that these women were overlooked for promotions due to their family lives, having rude and demeaning comments made about them, a lack of women on certain teams, and unwelcome advances. There have also been allegations of men bullying women in the workplace.
The hearing for Sony's request to dismiss the case will not happen for at least another month. The deadline for replies to Sony's request to dismiss the suit has now passed, but that does not mean that more employees will not be able to join the
