One imaginative fan recently combined the worlds of Pokémon and professional football by drawing several of Nintendo’s titular collectible monsters as National Football League team logos. The long-running Pokémon series has inspired plenty of creative fan art over the years, with talented artists imagining what modern Pokémon like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Gen 9 starters would look like rendered in the style of the older handheld games, fusing creatures like Latios and Scizor into freighting and powerful new Pokémon, and even creating their own custom mons from scratch.
Naturally, there have been several fan-made crossovers between Pokémon and other famous properties as well, as Marvel fans have created Pokémon versions of heroes like Doctor Strange and visualized how the burlap sack-like Ghost/Fairy type Mimikyu would appear when merged with Venom’s alien symbiote. Superheroes aren’t the only things that fans have mixed with Pokémon, as one of the many popular pastimes in the Pokémon fanart community involves building hypothetical Pokémon teams for characters like Turning Red’s Abby. Lastly, Pokémon fan artists sometimes combine the already colorful logos of sports organizations like the NBA and NHL with corresponding members of Nintendo’s ever-growing roster of Pokémon.
