Korean games giant Nexon has filed a DMCA request and had the in-development title Dark and Darker pulled from Steam.
That's according to a message in the game's official Discord – per a post on Reddit – in which developer Ironmace said that the claims made about its work was "distorted".
Korean police previously raided the studio following allegations that Dark and Darker looks similar to an in-development project that had been worked on by staff who had left and formed Ironmace.
The DMCA request has since been posted to Reddit, Nexon said that Ironmace was "making unauthorised use" of its "trade secrets and copyrighted material," and once again claims that Dark and Darker was being built these materials.
"To all our fans, we have recently been served a cease and desist letter and DMCA takedown by Nexon regarding Dark and Darker based on distorted claims," Ironmace wrote on its Discord server.
"We are currently working with our legal team to remedy this issue in the best manner possible. Due to the sensitive legal nature of this issue, we must be careful with our statements so as to not jeopardize our position. We ask for your understanding as we work to get the game back up as quickly as possible."
"Please know that we will do all that is possible for our fans."
