E-Line Media's BAFTA-award-winning co-op adventure Never Alone is officially releasing on Nintendo Switch later this February, while a sequel has officially been announced to be in pre-production. The Nintendo Switch has been a marvelous home for independent developers who create games that aren't graphics-intensive and are easily playable. While also being a perfect console for those wanting to play Nintendo's first-party games, more than hundreds of third-party indie titles release on the eShop each year, and Nintendo's Indie World showcase events show off some of the best and upcoming titles available from developers around the world.
Released in 2014, Never Alone is an atmospheric side-scrolling platformer that tells the touching story of a girl named Nuna and her companion, a white fox, who set out to find the source of an eternal blizzard that is ravaging her community. With uniquely drawn characters and stunning environments, the game tasks players with jumping across icy gaps and snowy platforms, using Nuna and Fox's unique abilities and complementary skills to journey through environmental mazes that are heavily affected by the blizzard along the way. Despite being the studio's first title, Never Alone received generally favorable reviews, with critics praising it for its charming art design and story. This led to Never Alone winning the Best Debut Game accolade at the BAFTA Games Awards in 2015.
