Netflix is launching an interactive series next month. Trivia Quest will air one new episode every day from April 1 to 30, testing viewers' knowledge of science, history, entertainment, sports, art, and geography.
Each episode of the program, based on Etermax's popular Trivia Crack franchise, features 24 multiple choice questions—12 standard and 12 hard—with four potential answers.
No stranger to the participatory format, Netflix has been experimenting with interactive content since 2015's Minecraft Story Mode. Most of its current choose-your-own-adventure-esque offerings are animations aimed at children, with a smattering of adult content like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs The Reverend, and Bear Grylls' You vs Wild.
"Like our interactive specials, Trivia Quest also has a narrative twist, taking players on a mission to help our hero, Willy, rescue the animated citizens of Trivia Land from the Evil Rocky, who's bent on hoarding all the knowledge in the world," Andy Weil, VP of comedy series and interactive programming at Netflix, wrote. "So it's up to you, the player, to select the right answers and save the day."
Answer questions correctly to gain points and earn all 10 knowledge keys needed to free Willy's friends and defeat Rocky. You can even replay episodes to solve queries you missed before, continuing to collect points. While Netflix promised each quiz has a definitive ending, the platform provided no further details, encouraging folks to "play to see."
Tune in at 8 a.m. on April 1 to start quizzing via a smart TV, streaming media player, game console, computer browser, and Android or iOS phone or tablet. Trivia Quest also complements and expands on Netflix's mobile gaming
