The critically acclaimed roguelike title Hades is scheduled to debut on Netflix's gaming platform on March 19. It will be available to play on iPhone and iPad via Netflix Games. Officially released in 2020 for the PC and Switch, Hades quickly managed to capture the hearts of many gamers with its charming presentation and unique take on Greek mythology.
Developed by Supergiant Games, Hades has received numerous accolades for its innovative fusion of roguelike gameplay mechanics complete with an unprecedented narrative depth not usually found in the genre. The title’s storyline follows the protagonist, Zagreus, on his quest to escape the Underworld and reunite with his mother, while encountering and interacting with iconic Greek gods with their colorful and distinctive personalities. Another interesting concept found within the game is the way dying works. Unlike in other games, dying is not considered a failure, instead being used as a way to unravel the layers of the narrative and provide players with valuable insights into the overarching plot.
In a new video posted on YouTube, Netflix revealed that pre-registration would now be available for Hades, as the game will be ready to play on iOS on March 19. The upcoming game will be free to download for Netflix subscribers. Months ago, Netflix had previously announced that Hades would be coming to Apple devices in 2024 as the title is anticipated to be a very popular addition to Netflix’s catalog of games.
