Neil Patrick Harris is rediscovering himself as he attempts to embrace the single life in the trailer for the Netflix series Uncoupled. Harris is a multi-talented star who has acted in Broadway, film, and television. His recent acting roles include The Matrix Resurrections and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Beyond Uncoupled, his upcoming works include acting in the upcoming Anita Bryant biopic Anita as well as playing a villain in the Doctor Who 60th-anniversary special.
In the trailer for Uncoupled (via Netflix), Harris plays Michael Lawson, a middle-aged gay man whose partner of 17 years, Colin, has broken up with him. Completely blindsided by Colin’s departure, Michael is initially distraught, wondering how he can recover from this breakup and function as a single gay man in his mid-40s. With the help of his friends, Michael slowly starts to rediscover himself, embracing the single life.

Uncoupled will be released by Netflix. The series also stars Tuc Watkins, André de Shields, Colin Hanlon, Dan Amboyer, Gilles Marini, Jai Rodriguez, Nic Rouleau, and Peter Potre. It is co-created by Emmy-winning talents Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman. Harris appears to be in his sweet spot in Uncoupled. From the glimpse the trailer gives, Uncoupled will be a chance for Harris to bring both humor and heart to the role of Michael in this twist on a romantic comedy. Uncoupled premieres on Netflix on July 29.
